Marks/Inscriptions: L 49 LANE, Philip (1838-1916) was born in Maidstone and served his appren-ticeship as a shipwright. He married in '59 and he and his wife came out in the 'Cameo', arriving 11/7/59. They lived in Lytt and then ChCh and they moved to Timaru where he worked in Public works, includ-ing Pareora Railway Bridge. After 15years there they returned to ChCh and he worked on the 'ocean going vessels' wharf at Lytt. They celebrat ed their golden wedding 28.2.09. He d. ChCh 9.11.16. son Philip 31 Butcher B. Timaru Marr 9.4.03 Emma Widdowson, 33 b. Fendalton dau WmW.
