Marks/Inscriptions: H. 127 Han iner , Norman Gordon Which cote (1853-1924) was born 3.8.53 son of Col. Francis Hanmer , Bengal Army, brother of Humphrey, George + Philip, and who marr. 1860 Mary Aun Catherine dau. of Chas. Gordon of Editor Gresh op, Morayshire. N.G.W. Hanmer came out to N.Z. for his health and lived with Philip Hanmer his uncle q.v. who had no family. He lived later at Fendalton and always wore a well brushed top hat and frock coat. He le came a lawyer and practised. H Before he settled down to law he went back to England and returned to N.Z. by the T7revel yan , arriving.13.5.80. He was educ. X's Coll 80- .
