Marks/Inscriptions: G. 8 492 Gulliver, James , Junr. became a clerk and was the only member of the Hunnibell family to live out of Rangiora. He waked for J.+ . Twentyman merchant for 612 years . Things went wrong with him which was hard to understand for he was a man of excellent char rater. It was perhaps die to the continual illes of his wife. He was the eldest () son of James Hunnibell baker of Rangiora . He was a keen volunteer in Ch.Ch. and was a sergt. in No 2 Coy. and in June '71 was elected Junior subaltern. He was gazetted Lieut. N0. 2 Cay. Jan 72. He was on of the best rifle shots in the Coy. In the presentation of shooting prizes by Mrs Cracroft Wilson oct. 73 he collected 4 of the prizes. This Company was known as the City Guards . At this time they were importing bear skins. The competition for the mist cour ful uniform at this time was very keen. marr.
