Monumental vase (one of a pair) in Bleu du Roi porcelain with cover, and ormolu fittings and mounts. Reserves by "Bertren" depicting scenes in the little village near Versailles built for Marie Antoinette; represents members of the French Court picking a birds nest.

Marks/Inscriptions: Intertwined Ls and Xb; Type of mark: Initials and Date; Method: Painted; Notes: Appears on inside of covers indicating the year 1754, but these vases are probably duplicates of the 1754 vases (a custom with this factory) and made by the Sevres factory very probably for the first London Exhibition of 1851. Note: relatively few copies have the date marks between the interlaced "L"s.
