This is the Church of St John the Evangelist, Woolston, now on the corner of St John Street and Ferry Rd. Designed by Benjamin Mountfort and erected in 1857 it was built of cob. It was replaced first by a wooden structure and then reinforced concrete edifice which is still extant The illegible note in the Brief description above is almost certainly Christchurch Quay, the wharves on the Heathcote River nearby
