Marks/Inscriptions: S. 149 Seager Henry Fowle (18 24- was born in London and was a compositor. He and his wife Charlotte , 31, and his family , Henry Fowle, 6, Charlotte Eliz. , 2; Amy Eliz, 2 and Annie inf. arrived by the Clontarf 11.3.60 . He was on the staff of the Press in 62 . He was the second printer and onyx remained in that position about a year . He succeed Geo. Watson who went to Dunedin. He was publisher in 63. He seems to have become Receiver of Bankrupt estates . He was receiver of Solomons estate Jan 6 14.1.65 Timaru. He gave evidence rn Reece v. Oakes mar. 65 He Appears to have got the bankrup (estate he was responsible for into a state of Confus ion ; when there were no assets in one estate he would pay necessary expen ses out of another estat which wan in funds. He signed an affidavit showing that the Govt. owed him £550.18-6 for fes , office ent, clerical assis tane. In various estates they wee ns funds to pay him his necessary expenses.
