Marks/Inscriptions: M. 2989 Medlicott, Samuel (1826- was born in Shropshire and farmed there for 10 years . In '64 he arrived in Canty. by the William Miles and settled at Milford near Temuka where he farmed for 7 year. He moved to the Hook and bought land which he later i n creased to 430 ac. ; he called it B road field. He was a member of the Temuka Rd Bd and the Hook Sch. Com in. He stood un success fully for the Geraldine Rd. Bd. in Jan. 68. marr. a dau. of James Bill of Shropshire. She di in '93 she d. 5 sons e daus.
