Marks/Inscriptions: 7. Kay, George Peter (1813- -94) arrived with his wife 2 ch. by the Mermaid 8.1.69. He was a schoolmaster by profess on. He won prizes for sweet peas at the Hort Show Dec. 71 . He was at stoke School in '79 . He and Mrs Kay took the school to a peine to Burch Hill on Boxing Day '79. The Ashley was rather high and he and Mrs Kay had a lucky escape from chowing. The horse turned round in mid stream and they were rescued just in time. He moved to Sumner in 80 and became head master He was chairman of the Sum ner Sch. Comm. Jan. 84 marr.
