Marks/Inscriptions: H. 706 Holmes, Robert Langley ( ) was in the Lake Wanaka dist. in . He was appointed Prov. Meteorologist and published his report for the welk ending 1.1.64 in the Lylt. Tines. He was appointed Sec. of the local com m. of the N.Z. Exhibition of 6 5 and was awarded a silver medal in recog initio of his work. He was on the comm. of the Ch.Ch. Mach. Inst. in '66. He was sec. of the Philosophical Inst. of Canty. and in '68 was elected an Hon. member. He looked after the Muse when Haast was away vole His borne was on the comer of Peterborough Colombo Sts. He claimed to for Selwyn as owner of RS. 8755 8846 Forks of Selwyn. He went to live in Fiji at Bua whence he continued to send Specimens to the Museum.
