Marks/Inscriptions: H. 420. Hemingway John ( 1834 ) was the son of Michael Henning way and his , wife Mary. and arrived with his wife by the Roman Empire 27.1.60 He was described in the Marr. Reg. as architect. , They settled in Pigeon Bay and he called his pace Stan cliff He was chairman of the Pigeon Bay Sch. Comm. jfk in 66 and again in 74-5. He, James Hay and Marshall joined a debut toi P the crcsitive on the sul jet of the P.B. roads. He resigned from the P.B. Rd. Bd. in Aug. 68. The chairman in 68 dined to declare Budua and McKay elected. n why ? There was continual trouble with the P.B.R1. Bd + sch , Comm. . In May 69 the Prov. Got. declared by gazette James Hay Firestorm . Hemingway s s and Walters to be the legally constituted P.B. Sch. comm. . Hemingway was 38'3 one of the organises of the first B.P. show held at the Head of the Bay, Akaroa Dec. 69. and was a member of the original comm . He was chairman 's of the Rid. Bd. 69-70 and 71. He put in a lst of work on the P.B. - Akaroa - Rd. which was finished in Oct. 71 . As past chairman of the BP.B. Rd. Bd. "o 2n he spoke at the diner at Akaroa when Rolleston made the first official drive over the new P.B. Akaroa Rd. Jan 72. over son Geo Machin , 28.Ch.Ch. liv. Pahiatua marr.
