Marks/Inscriptions: H. 252 Hart. Alfred Gibbs (1872-1924) was born in Ch.Ch and Educ. there and went to Winchester and worked in the flax industry there. He then went to Morven and 1 an aged a farm for his brother T.C. Hart. He bought a small farm near Claude boys and when the Levels station was cut up bought a farm at Rosewill. He was member of St. Johns church and was in the choi at Winchester He was a good foot baller and played for Waihi Club and for S. Canty. He was a member of the Timaru A. + p 8 as soc. and was Pres. 1923 marr. Florence Moore of Winchester.
