Marks/Inscriptions: H. 246 Harr isos William (1856 -1923) wes born in Co. Wex ford, Inland and was a son of Thos. Harrison of Holly Ford. He came out in '75 in the Cardigan Castle and joined his brother Henry - q.v. He worked a threshing mill and chaff cutter for Lem ard White and was engine driver for Browne of Cher Bey and Story of Southbridge. When he and his brother went into part. they broug ht a new threshing machine and later an engine. They invested their profits in land and Henry looked after the priming side an d William the mechanical side. When the part. was diss. William took as his share the 1500 ac which surrounded his homes keady which he called Sumner lea. It was lit by electric light which his own plant generated, He was a member of the school comm. and a vestry man. He was a breeder of Clydesdale horses and Berkshire pigs and was a member of the Ashburton n A. + P. Assoc. marr. a dau. of J.N. Sharp of the Govt. Railways.
