Marks/Inscriptions: 100 H. 86' Hammond, James ( 1885 same out in the stead fast arriving 6.6.51. He marred the day after he landed Ann Elizabeth dau of Robert Haris who also came out in the Steadfast. She was one of a family of 9 . They went at once to German Bay where Hammond was engaged to work by Capt. Muter, another Steadfast passenger. Later they went in or dairy ing . 19 children were born op and 12 survived her. In the middle of their land was a Govt. section on which was built one of the two flock houses hilt to pro let Akaroa. marr. 15.6.57 by Rev B.W. Dudley Ann Elizabeth Haris : she d. at the home of her son W . B.Hammond 21.10.09 ag. 80. He d. about 1885. Her brother was E.W.Harris of Okains s Bay, She was a skilled weaver. Hos James Ham mond was elected to the German Bay Sch. comm . Oct 75. - Hammond , same ? in Jan 58 walked from Okains Bay to Akaroa and from there by Pigeon Bay and Port Levy to Purau - up to ther an unheard of feat. The tracks were improving ar the time. son?
