Marks/Inscriptions: G. 199a Gunson or Gimpson , Charles William (1847- ) was born in Kent and came with his potter in the Atrato which arrived 20.6.74. He worked for 3years ass the Port Lylt. railway lincecum . He then settled at Winchester and went into business as a baker, butcher and general storekeeper. After twelve years he sold out to John opie. In '90 he mond to Geraldine and purchased a farm o f 233 ac. which he named n Eclectic He belonged to the Odd fellows, Dios and Foresters, and was also a Freemason marr. in Kent Martha Anne Kinsey. When he landed in N.Z he had 2 daus. Rose and Emily and 7 more children were born. Cyclop N.Z.111 Pass list Ref.
