Marks/Inscriptions: G.521 G atkin. Alfred Frederick (1848 -68) was a son of Capt. Gwatkin of War am boo , Victoria and was a merchant and shipping and ince. agent of Lylt. He acted for Cob + Sawtell and various ship owners. He was a member of the Lylt. Amateu Dramatic Soc. and when the Soc. put on a benefit performance for the Lylt. Boating Club . he wrote a prologue which was ot spoken by Wm. Rayner and playe the part of Capt. Hawk sly for which he was highly praised by the Lylt. Times. He was on the com m. of the Lylt. Boating Club and also in the comm. Lylt. Colonists Soc. He was a cricket and played for the Lylt. Club. marr. 30.4.67 at the h one of Hugh F. Campbell q.v. by Rev. Chas. Fraser Agnes Eliz. 2' dau. of Alexander Dunbar of the 6" Royal Lancashire militia formerly of 90' Light Inf, She d. 6.12.02 ag. 58. He d. at his home Exeter St. Lylt. 6.5.68 ag 23.
