Marks/Inscriptions: G. 1 ". Galletly, John (1840 -1916) was born in Perthshire and brought ups to be a farmer. In '60 he arrived in Lylt by the Clontarf , and worked for a year at Kaiapoi Island and then worked for 3 years on the Deans stati at Ricc, In the Rice . Wages book David Galletly pears from 58 -60 followed by John Galletly in Ap. 61. In 64 he bought 5o ac. in the Cust dist and increased it to 175 ac. He served for s one years on the Cust Rd. Ba. and was elected to the stoke Sch. comm. oct 71 and 73. marr. 6 Ellen dau of J. Shea of Co Tipper ary she d. 20.10.18 ag. 80. bur. Crust. 2 sons 2 daus. He n 16.7.16 + 76 ' son Thos. marr. 1.7.97 at St. Andrews Bets.ie (Bessie) 3 dau Mark Stephenson Standeven His father Alex. who brought his family out in the Clontarf 11.3.60 d.
