Marks/Inscriptions: . a F. 313a Francis, Anthony (185-1929) was born in Cornwell and educ. there and thorny ( brought up on his fathers farm. He came to N.Z in 78 in the Northern Monarch He first worked for John a Gammack at Temuka and later was coachman to the Hur. Ems t Gray of Hoo Hay and then to G.H. Moore of Glenmark. soon after his marriage, in 85, he bought the Waipara Hotel. He started a coach service from Waipara to Cheviot when the cutting up of the Cheviot estate brought a lot more traffic on the road and he used to rin his coach up one day and down the next. He had good horses and fed them well. for he was well trained in the looking after of horses . Boyce also ian a service, independently on the days when Francis was not running. Boyes horses were lst so good as Frances 's. His brother Nick later of Cheviot, helped him in the serrie. He sold the hotel to W.J. Alpe in 1900. He started to farm at Waipara and later moved to the Omni Valley, where he lived for 22 years marr. '85 Lillian Barrow He d.
