Marks/Inscriptions: F 412 Fussell Joseph Rawlings ( ) appears in the Jury List of '60 as surveyor of the South Ch.Ch. Road. He was in the offic of Public Works. He was gazetted Asst. surveyor Mar. 62. He signed the request to Alfred Cox to stand for the Heathcote seat for the Gen. Assembly which M or house had just resigned Ang. 63. He was a drang ts man in the Survey Dept. till - In '76 he was put in charge of the Timaru Office . There was some trouble over the Sealey Brothers getting prior knowledge of Edward Richardson planning to take up a section at Te Ngawaro . The Lylt. Times in a leader 2.1.76 Severely criticised the conduct of the Timaru office of which he was in charge. The story was that Henry sealey used the information knowledge off ally gained by him in the office to give his brother E.P. Scale that Richardson was after a section that E.F. Sealy wanted. J.R. Fussell was gazetted a Crown Lou ds Ranger June 84 After 25 years in the L. + S.
