Marks/Inscriptions: F 42 Edgar, Adam (1838- was born in Berwick shire , Ic ot. and was brought up to farming . He came to N.Z. by the Quee of the Mer sey in '62, and first worked for Ser J. Cracroft Wilson as a shepherd. He was then a shepherd at Acton Station, Rakaia for 2 years. He moved about the S. Island, visited the gold fields in the West Coast and went in for contract cropping . In '75 he started farming at Rangitata on 500 ac. He was a member of the local sch. Comm. marr. '7 Selma Barn harn of oxford shire , Eng. 4 daus 2 sons He made the lorg journey to Caes Ie with the Hewson family - see H. Hewson.
