He had done well, but, at the tines of the martinez strike , he could not keep his works going at full tines and the men , in spite, because he was foredeck to work short time. damaged a lot of his stock. Finally the bank would not give him any fir the accommodation and he was forced to file in bankrup ty. His works were in Sydenham and he had spent a lot on them.
