Marks/Inscriptions: O. 575. Cooper. Walter Henry (1849- ) was born in Somerset and came out to Canty. in '82. He joined the firm of Hopkins Po , butchers, as manager in that year. Thie years later he bought the good will of Mein + Co , butchers, and carried it on till he retired in He was elected to the Ch Ch. C.C. N.E. Ward ) Sept. 88 and was elected Mayor Nov. 94 . He was at various times Pres Chairman of the conciliation Bd. " the St. John Ambulance Assoc: of the S.P. C.A; Charitable ard Bd + Domain Bd. He ad Fleming of Port Levy called a meeting to consider buying the hulp Edwin Fox which was filled for freezing and forming a company for freezing Peninsular sheep. He was frequently the successful tendere for rejects. by. products (Kidneys etc) from the Canty. Frozen cat C0's works at Belfast. He was chair man of the Master Butchers Assoc. Mar. '90.
