Marks/Inscriptions: Jun Cochrane , John ( 1902 was a son of John Cochrane and came out with his parents in the Himalaya, arriving 10.2.67 . He worked with his father farming and contracting. In 178 with his brother, he took up Waituna Mains. The part. was later diss. and John carried on by himself. He was chairman of the Waituna Sch. Comm and treas. of the Waimate Caledonia Soc. He was county value for waimat C.C. and also for N.Z. Got. He was killed by a loaded dray falling on his chest May 1902.
