Marks/Inscriptions: 830 Cochrane, James (1853 was born in Forfarshire, the son of John Cochrane, sens and came out with his parents in the Himalaya arriving 10.3 The family settled in Waimate . He took up contract work and started farming on his own account at Waituna in 1880. After Fine years he started contract cropping again in Teschemakers land gt Otaio and at Waikakahi. In 99 he went into a Waikakahi farm of 400 aces. He served on the Waikakahi Sch. comm. and was chairman in ' He was a member of the Waimate A+P. Assoc. marr.
