Marks/Inscriptions: C. 3. Cai. Capt. Henry (1816- was in charge o y the Kaka of 17 tons riumimno from Ly H. to the Estuary . Marks/Inscriptions: C. 3. Capt. Cam. Jane, before she married Pattison, had married Wm. Newton who had often attempted to committ suicide and had finally disappeared. Jane, believing him to be dead, had married Pattison. The Judgement was that it was a reasonable assumption n that newton was dead and that the second marr age was Valid. Isabelle Pattisson was therefore given judgement for a third of the estate, (£6000). late had left her share of the estate to her sister and her two descendants. Defendants pleaded that there was no proof of the death of Newton. Two new tons sons were two of the defendants. Jane married once more to oue Collis and died in 1934. Capt. Cain was Mary or of Timaru . 7 '73. In this year the Timaru Temuka railway was started + Mrs Cain as Mayor ess turned the first sod.
