Morey q.v. at his livery stables in Market Snare and in Oct. 66 he took over the stabler He won a first prize f a pai of carriage horses at the ChCh Show of '69. He had a hackneyed stallin called Quick sand with which he won a prize. He was charged with breaking in a horse in Aag h and Colombo St. He pleaded that he had the horse harnessed up to his old breaking horse and no harm could possibly result. He had not time to take him out of the town. He had done the same in London and Melbourne . He sold his business to E.W. Millet in May '71 and it was an oun ed that he was leaving Canty. He went to Melbourne and returned to ChCh in '73. He put a notice in the pape that his wife Margaret Adelaide Beecher " has been for a borg time living Separate from mne ; and I have reason to lair thet she is living in adult ria I therefore will not be responsible fo r any debts el" . The Governor Si James Finger son stayed at his hote during his stay at Akaroa and it was Beaches chief theme of conversation for months afterwards. He apparently returned to livery stable business for in Mar. 81 then was a sale held in account of J . Beecher at the Royal Leery Stables. In '82 he was a partner with com Vincent and C.F. Todhunter in their brewery . In '84 he was the license of the Centrally Hotel at Ashburton, In '8 he was license of the Whitecliffs Hotel al Governors Bay.
