Marks/Inscriptions: D. 287 Beaumont James (1829 -1906) was born in West moreland on the Lonsdale Estate and worked on his fathers farm. He arrived at Lylt . 28.1.60 in the Roman Empire wi h his wife and 2 ch. and settled first on the Lincoln Rd. In ap. 62 be applied to be put on the Electoral role for Heathcote. He was then, living on "Cashmere Road " and his of 150 a Lowe d Tncotunka qualification was R.S. 147 Heathcote dist. This was 150 ac selected for Lady O.B. Sparrow and was on the Upper Heathcote, South Bank. Some time after he bought land al Springston and later increased t to a10 acres. He called it Lonsdale. He milked cows and carried on mixed faring. He made himself f o responsible for raising the mey r the fist Anglican Church ats pring ton. He was peoples churchw arden f r St. Mary's Springston ap. 76 and Vicars churchwarden in '77. He was hunch warden for eight years altogether. He was elected to the Springs Rd. od Jan. 74 and was a member for three years and was elected to the Sch. Comm. Oct. 75. marred in '56 Hannah Ray . she d. at Springston 2.12.91 aged 61 He d. 28.2 .06 aged 76.
