Marks/Inscriptions: A. 232 Anstey -, Samuel (1845-1919) wes born in Com wall, a son of Sami f Anstey and Anne Davis . He came to N.Z. in 1'8 2 and joined the Lands and Survey Office. He was a quiet man but will. read and informed He had done railway surveys in the Rocky Mcfar . He was a great gardener and was Founder of the Pea and Carnation Soc. and wrote weekly gardening holes for newspapers. He was a keen member of the S.P.C.D. In about 1900 he became the owner of the Antigua St. boat sheds which he leased to Albert Shaw and he still owned them at the time of t his death. He was educ. at King 's Coll. London; Bishop Julius was there with him . He lived in Wara rapa Rd. next to Professor Mab ulan Brown marr. .9.81 Rosa Maria dau of Edward Geo. Worthington and Caroline Gilbert. she d. 1912. St. Likes. he d. 27 .8.19 aged 74. his dau. marr . Lt. Comm. Williams R.N. wife Rosa Maria d. 27.C .12 ag. 64. both bur. Linwood Cem. L7 1.9.19. St Fuke's M.R.
