Description
One British one pound postage stamp celebrating King George VI silver wedding anniversary 1923-1948 with selvedge attached. Postmarked 'ROTHERFIELD TUNBRIDGE WELLS 26 AP 48' once on the front of the envelope, and twice on the back of the envelope. 'TAITAPU N.Z 5MY48 I' is postmarked on the back of the envelope. The envelope has a registered mail stamp 'R ROTHERFIELD No 2153' and an air mail stamp. '1st Day' is hand-written in the bottom left corner of the envelope. Enclosed is a 'With compliments' note from Richard Roberts, philatelic expert and valuer, dated 24 April 1948. Also enclosed is an envelope with a loose stamp inside.
