Description
Souvenir cover of the coronation of Her Gracious Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on June 2nd 1953. Envelope has adhered image of Prince Philip. Five New Zealand Postage and Revenue Coronation 1953 stamps are affixed to the envelope: two pence (Buckingham Palace), three pence, four pence (The State Coach), eight pence (Westminster Abbey), and one shilling six pence (Crown and Royal Sceptre). Also affixed is an 'AIR MAIL PAR AVION' stamp. The envelope has three 'WELLINGTON N.Z. CORONATION MAIL E R II 2.JE.53.' postmarks on the front of the envelope. 'TAI TAPU N.Z 18 JE 53. 1'; 'WELLINGTON C.I. N.Z 8-PM 12 JNE 1953'; 'LONDON F.S. L 5 JNE 1953'; and 'LONG LIVE THE QUEEN' are all postmarked on the back of the envelope.
