Stamps: New Zealand One Shilling

Production date
1899
Description
Nine conjoined stamps, New Zealand Postage and Revenue, one shilling with attached selvedge. Sheet patched after it had been perforated horizontally. The repaired sheet was then perfect vertically. All paper had to be accounted for and when a sheet was torn, it was patched and repaired. Perforations badly aligned were often corrected by running the sheet through again, hence double and mixed perforations depending upon whether the gauge was the same or different.
