One page titled '1st January, 1873. Designed by J Davies. Woodblock die cut at Melbourne. Surface-printed in sheets of 240 (20 rows of 12), from electrotypes made at the Govt. Printing Office, Wellington. The paper, which had been made for large size duty stamps had a watermark of the letters NZ (16 x 6 mm) 100 times in the full sheet consequently, at least 120 stamps showed no watermark. Perf 10' with five affixed objects. Subtitled 'Perf 12 1/2' with one affixed object and 'Perf compound of 10 and 12 1/2' with three affixed objects.
