This t-shirt was designed and manufactured by Auckland based t-shirt company Mr Vintage in October 2010 to commemorate the 7.1 magnitude earthquake on the 4 September 2010. 25 per cent of sales revenue was donated to the Red Cross, raising over $11,300. However, as only a percentage of the proceeds from the t-shirts were to be donated, a public backlash erupted and the t-shirt was withdrawn from sale. Mr Vintage also released a t-shirt fundraiser for Christchurch following the 22 February 2011 earthquake. This time all proceeds were donated to charity and over $107,000 was raised for four charities involved in the Christchurch recovery effort.
