This postcard is one of 15 released by The New Zealand Postcard Society (Inc.) that feature images of Christchurch after the 4 September 2010 earthquake. The description on the reverse of the postcard reads: "St. John the Baptist Anglican Church, 234 Hereford St, Latimer Square. This historic church suffered the collapse of its bell tower although the bell itself stood proud. The building has also suffered other damage to its west wall requiring large bracing while plans for its full restoration were being considered."
