China tea set

Description
Set of china (?made for export to British India). White porcelain, gilded with flying cranes (tsuru) in white and black. Japanese characters stamped in blue on base. Note: Characters on saucers different. Set comprises: teapot, milk jug, sugar bowl, six cups, six saucers, in European style. Yamashiro (Kyoto) porcelain, painted in colours. Modern ware (c19) possibly made for London exhibition of 1874.
