Description
Battery powered musical Santa and sleigh Christmas toy/decoration. Bespectacled Santa sits on red wooden sleigh, laden with presents. Sleigh pulled by two reindeer, united by gold papaer coated wire to Santa's hands. Sleigh sits on black, synthetic velvet covered plastic plinth, which houses on/off switch, battery operated music box, battery compartment and small motor, which raises Santa's arms to give sleigh in flight effect. Sleigh and reindeer decorated about their base with greem plastic foliage (to give Christmas tree effect) clusters of three red and gold baubles and small, gold painted pine cones. Runs on 2 x C batteries.

"First one collected in 1988 (Father Christmas moneybox/jewellery box). Started career as Santa 17 years ago but acted as Santa when 16 (c. 1944) for brother, Trevor, at Civic Theatre in a Saturday night benefit concert. Has visited hospitals - Southern Cross, St Georges, Princess Margaret, Christchurch Public, Nurse Maude and Registered Nurses Association. Known as "King Santa" in the Hays, Farmers then McDonalds Christmas Parade.
