Description
Earthenware (ironstone) dinner or breakfast service plate with transfer, enamel and gilded decoration in a mock Oriental style. White glaze ground with floral band on 45mm rim in pink underglaze transfer pattern with strong red and dark blue on-glaze painting with gilding; inner band around central body of plate - crossed bamboo pattern in blue and gold with 4 rectangular reserves of red with 2 white flowers; main centre panel of vase on square stand, leaves and flowers, in same colourings and gilding as other areas.
Marks: printed crimson crown over A.Bros./Real Ironstone China; black stamped A; impressed 555; painted (red) B/3194/3. Note 3 spur marks on edge of rim.
