Biography
His parents had a back-country run and built "Hazelburn" of limestone blocks. Matthew Andrews used to go to Australia every year, during his bachelor days, to shear sheep. He married Elizabeth Watkins and lived at Temuka and Pleasant Point. He probably became a farmer but it was not his nature. His bachelor brother inherited Hazelburn.
