Biography
Native of Birmingham. Marine biologist at the Marine Biologicla Station, Plymouth. Curator of Plymouth Museum. Joined Discovery Expedition as biologist. Had previously worked on the Southern Cross Expediton's collections and later on those of the Scottish National Antarctic Expedition 1902-04. Re-appointed curator at Plymouth Museum on return from the Antarctic. Suffered from ill health until death in May 1926.
