Description
One brass plaque collected in Port Levy from the grave of Anton Jacob Ernst. The inscription reads "Hier Ruht In Gott, Anton Jacob Ernst, 3rd Stewermann an Bord des Bremer Schieels Hansa, 28 Jahr Alt. Gebartig ans Bremen, un Weithier Erschossen am 30 Dec. 1846. Von Wm. Krentel, 2nd Zimmerman an Bord des Selben Schifs. Gott Sei Den Morder Gnadig To the memori of Mr Anton J. Ernst, 3rd mate of the ship Hansa, of Bremen, who was shot by W. Krentel, carpenter mate of de same ship."
