Description
Straight-sided cylinder; charcoal & cream glaze; thrown with Nelson clay, burnished & bisqued in electric kiln, then laid on sawdust in an underground pit and burnt for several hours with a handful of copper sulphate and salt sprinkled between the pots (potter's notes).First pit-firing experiment by this potter.
