Brace. Cir 1800.
Plated brace of (probably) beechwood - wooden frame, handle and head, brass spring chuck with button latch and square jaws, thin brass plates inlaid and screwed to frame; brass rings and rod on neck (loose); lignum vitae head.
Head has been damaged (prior to receipt) and repaired with brass screw; top side of frame broken away where neck screwsin. Brass plating worn.
