Harpoon: Whaling
Description
This massive hand-forged version of the toggle harpoon was propelled by a swivel gun fixed in the bows of a whale-chasing launch. The purpose of the divided shank is to allow the wire loop which carries the line to slide back as the harpoon darts out from the gun muzzle.
