Description
Electric Elna sewing machine in case with accessories. The case converts into a work surface which slides around the free-arm knee lever on the machine. The accessories include needles, screwdriver and fancy-stitch attachment feet. (Some illustrated in the Elna book, EC1989.84). The accessories are in a black celluloid box with a green metal lid. The machine and its case are in green painted metal. Separate electric flex included. The machine is turned on and off with a lever which rests on the side of the leg. The machine has a sticker on the side: "Supplied by Robertson Reversible Sewing Machine Co. Ltd., 194-201 Queen Street, Auckland C.1."

Note from the depositor: the machine "Was owned by Mrs Blair, our neighbour in Casey's Avenue, Hamilton. Given to my family (me) after her death in 1969 or 1970. Used by me from then until c.1986. Mid to early 1950s. I always thought of it as the original electric Elna, but it may have been the second model".
