In 1965 Shoji Hamada brought this tea bowl with him from Japan to display in his major exhibition held at Canterbury Museum. The tea bowl was purchased by a visitor to the display and later acquired by Canterbury Museum.: Mr Shoji Hamada: Japan/Eastern Asia/Asia: 1965
