One landscape format black and white pen and ink drawing on paper mounted on cardboard depicting a view from Alfred Charles Barker's house upstairs of a gathering at the Land Office to elect the first Superintendent. The circular lawn and small tree belongs to Alfred Charles Barker. An inscription reads: Christchurch Election for the first Superintendent, July 18 1853. Fitzgerald 135, Tancred 89, Campbell 94.
