Photograph: Lyttelton after Fire
Alfred Charles Barker
One landscape black and white photograph of Lyttelton showing a large amount of damage caused by fire. The image is taken from an elevated position looking towards the West side of the township. Several empty lots are visible within the township centre, several chimneys stand in these lots devoid of houses. Smoke rises from rubble and obscures the view of the hill behind. Based on other images by Barker this photograph was probably taken the day after the fire.
