Commemorative cover of the New Zealand Centennial 1840-1940, printed with a photograph of 'Abel Tasman's Landfall, West Coast, South Island, N.Z.'. Two New Zealand Postage and Revenue Centennial 1840-1940 stamps are affixed to the envelope: two pence (Tasman's Discovery of New Zealand 1642), and nine pence (1861, 1940 A Modern Gold Dredge). Postmarked 'CENTENNIAL EXHIBITION N.Z. 2JA40.930AM' on the front of the envelope and 'TAITAPU N.Z 3JA40 I' on the reverse of the envelope. A registered mail 'R No. 966 Centennial Exhibition' stamp is affixed to the envelope.
