Description
Official souvenir cover of the New Zealand Health Stamps, 1945, printed with a drawing of a young child and the words 'Buy health postage stamps for Children's Health Camps - Children's health is the nation's wealth'. Two New Zealand Postage Health stamps are affixed to the envelope: one penny (sold for one and a half pence) and two pence (sold for three pence). The proceeds above postage were donated to children's health camps. Postmarked 'CHRISTCHURCH C.I. - O.M.B. 1 OC 45. 1 PM' on the front of the envelope and 'TAITAPU N.Z 2 OC 45 1' on the reverse of the envelope. Inside the envelope is a small piece of paper on which is written 'With the compliments of Verne Collins & Co. Ltd, Box 316 - Christchurch'.
