Cover envelope for the 50th anniversary of the Great Barrier Island Agency Pigeongram, 1899-1949, 16th July. Two conjoined New Zealand Postage and Revenue one and a half pence stamps are affixed in the top right corner of the envelope, with a 'NZ CKUPU 16 JL 49 A' postmark. A triangular Great Barrier Island Pigeongram Auckland NZ six pence stamp is affixed in the lower left corner with an 'AIR MAIL SOCIETY OF NEW ZEALAND' postmark. An 'AIR MAIL PAR AVION' stamp is affixed in the top left corner, with a postmark. There are four postmarks on the reverse of the envelope: 'CHRISTCHURCH N.Z. 2-PM 19 JUL 1949'; 'SAVE FOOD FOR BRITAIN'; 'AUCKLAND N.Z. AIR MAIL 530A 19JUL 1949'; and 'SHOW POSTAL DISTRICT IND [illegible] IN ADDRESS [illegible] AUCKLAND LETTER'. The envelope is addressed to the 'Air Mail Society of N.Z., 225a High Street, Christchurch.' The number '247' is printed on the back of the envelope.
