First Day Cover: ANZAC Day Commemorative Stamps

Official first day cover of ANZAC Day - Commemorating the Landing of Allied British, Australian and New Zealand Forces, 1936, printed in red with the emblem of the New Zealand Returned Soldiers Association. A one penny New Zealand Postage stamp titled 'NZRSA ANZAC Twenty First Anniversary 1915 - 1936' is affixed to the envelope. The stamps were sold for two pence with the proceeds above postage going to the New Zealand Returned Soldiers Association. Postmarked 'CHRISTCHURCH N.Z. 27.AP.36 5.30PM' on the front of the envelope and 'TAITAPU N.Z. 28AP36' on the reverse of the envelope. A form letter from the N.Z.R.S.A. is enclosed.
